Areas of application
Well suited for sample preparation, such as in chemical analysis,
chromatography, mass spectrography or x-ray structure analysis.
Preparation of samples in genetic research, homogenisation of
ingredients, preparation of extracts in forensic analysis, grinding
of pigments and precious materials.
The PULVERISETTE 23 is also excellently suited for solubilising of
biological samples and for low temperature comminution of frozen or
chilled soft samples.
Method of operation
The rotation of a large direct current motor is converted into
vertical oscillation movement via a lifting piston gear. Through
oscillations of the grinding bowl of large amplitude and high
frequency, comminution occurs in the grinding bowls due to the
collision between grinding balls and the grinding bowl inner wall
as well as through friction between the grinding balls and the
grinding bowl inner wall.
In contrast to comparable mills, the ball-shaped grinding bowl
inner wall is optimised for the comminution principle and achieves
a significantly higher level of efficiency.
