Duplex Stainless Steels 2205 Woven Wire Mesh Used in Pressure Vessel

Duplex Stainless Steel is also called Super Stainless Steel, and it is a stainless steel alloy. It has much better physical properties than normal stainless steel. As the most commonly used duplex stainless steel, the 2205 duplex has nearly doubled the yield strength of most standard austenitic stainless steel, such as AISI316 or AISI316L.

Additionally, Duplex Stainless Steel 2205 also has better corrosion resistance properties than other normal stainless steel, because of its higher Cr, Ni, and Mo chemical content. Of course, this also increases its cost much higher than normal, which makes it much less used than other stainless steel in normal industrial applications.

Besides the superior yield strength and better corrosion resistance properties, Duplex 2205 could keep its magnetism in most conditions and withstand outdoor exposure without rusting. It could be welded together easily, but more difficult to cut and form than AISI316. And it is better used in temperatures under 600 degrees because it would undergo embrittlement at higher temperatures.
