The carbon dioxide laser uses CO2 gas as a working substance. The CO2 and other auxiliary gases are charged into the discharge tube. When a high voltage is applied to the electrodes and a glow discharge is generated in the discharge tube, the gas molecules can release the laser light. After the laser energy released is amplified, laser processing can be performed.
