These creepage gauges is required by IEC60335-1 Clause 29, IEC 60884-1: 2013 clause 27, IEC60598, and etc. They are used to determine the shortest path between two conductive parts, or between a conductive part and the bounding surface of the equipment, measured along the surface of the insulation, with specifications made according to the requirements.
