Description

The worm gear structure is commonly used to transmit the motion and power between two interleaved shafts. The worm wheel and the worm are equivalent to the gear and the rack in the middle plane, and the worm and the screw are similar in shape.

Commonly used surface hardening treatment methods mainly include carburizing, nitriding, hard anodizing, chromium plating, surface quenching and metalizing.

carburization
The carburizing of steel means that the steel parts with low carbon content are heated or insulated in the carburizing medium, so that carbon atoms can penetrate into the surface to obtain a certain surface carbon content. After quenching, the surface layer with high carbon content has high hardness. , And the core with low carbon content has low hardness and still has good toughness. The purpose is to make the parts obtain high surface hardness, wear resistance and high contact fatigue strength and bending fatigue strength. It is mainly used for parts that bear wear, alternating contact stress or bending stress and impact load, such as shafts, gears, camshafts, etc. These parts require high hardness on the surface and sufficient strength and toughness at the core.

Nitriding
Nitriding refers to heating alloy steel (generally containing Al, Cr, Mo) in an anhydrous ammonia (NH3) flow at about 500℃—570℃ for a long time to form a layer of high hardness and corrosion resistance on the surface of the steel. The nitrides (mainly Fe2N, Fe3N, Fe4N). Generally there are gas nitriding, liquid nitriding and glow ion nitriding.

Hard anodizing
The anodic oxidation of aluminum uses aluminum or aluminum alloy as the anode, and the lead plate as the cathode is electrolyzed in the electrolyte to form an oxide film on the surface. After anodic oxidation, an oxide film with a thickness of several to several hundred microns can be formed on the surface of aluminum. The surface of this layer of oxide film is porous and honeycomb. Compared with the natural oxide film of aluminum alloy, its corrosion resistance, wear resistance and decoration are significantly improved and improved. Using different electrolytes and process conditions, anodic oxide films of different properties can be obtained.
