Durable pneumatic rubber fender was developed in Japan in 1958. The durable pneumatic rubber fenders should be manufactured according to ISO 17357. The standard defines the corresponding international standards for the materials and testing of these fenders. In most cases, the durable pneumatic rubber fender,s should be surrounded by tires and chains to provide additional protection. The fender can also be reinforced with rubber ribs(rib fender) without tires and chain mesh (sling fender).

① Outer rubber layer

The outer rubber layer uses special compounds that provide additional tensile strength and tear strength to protect the fender from severe weather conditions and frequent use.

② Synthetic-tire-cord layer

The Synthetic-tire-cord layer is made of synthetic-tire-cord fabrics, compared with synthetic canvas fabric and synthetic belt fabric, this reinforcement layer performs better in fatigue-resistance and pressure-holding.

③ Inner rubber layer

The inner layer is designed to seal the air inside the fender.

Durable pneumatic rubber fender is made of reinforced cord layers of high elasticity and flexibility, which enable it to make it shape conformant at inclined compression during ship-to-ship operations. Compared with solid fender and foam fender, the durable pneumatic rubber fender is easier to distribute the load along the ship's body or berthing structure.

2. Relatively Low Economic Cost

With the advantage of compressive elasticity of air, the surface pressure of durable pneumatic rubber fenders is completely uniform, which is equal to the internal air pressure and makes it popular with LNG-ship terminals.

3. No Variation or Deformation in Performance
