Selection of gantry crane

In general, the lifting weight is less than 50t and the span is less than 35m. Without special requirements, it is advisable to choose the single girder type. If requires the door leg width is large, the work speed is higher, or often lifts the heavy part, the long part, then should choose the double beam gantry crane.

Span and cantilever length

The span of gantry crane is an important factor that affects the quality of crane. In the selection, the span should be reduced as far as possible on the premise that the equipment service conditions and the span series standards are met.

The determination principle of wheel base

• Meet the stability requirements of the gantry along the direction of the crane track.
• The external dimensions of the cargo shall be able to pass through the plane steel frame of the support legs.

In the work of gantry crane, there should be a certain space between the outer dimension and the cargo and transport vehicle passage in the yard, so as to facilitate the loading and unloading operation. Generally, when loading and unloading vehicles within the span, the distance between them and the door leg should be more than 0.7m. When the spreader is not working, it should be more than 0.5m apart from the transport vehicle. When the cargo passes through the door leg, it should be more than 0.5m apart.
