1 Overview:

Commercially pure or low-alloy nickel has characteristics that are useful in several fields, notably chemical processing and electronics. Nickel is highly resistant to various reducing chemicals and is unexcelled in resistance to caustic alkalies. Compared with nickel alloys, commercially pure nickel has high electrical and thermal conductivity. It also has a high Curie temperature and good magnetostrictive properties. Annealed nickel has a low hardness and good ductility and malleability. Those attributes, combined with good weldability, make the metal highly fabricable. Nickel has a relatively low work-hardening rate, but it can be cold worked to moderately high strength levels while maintaining ductility.

Nickel 200 (UNS N02200/W.Nr. 2.4060 & 2.4066) is commercially pure (99.6%) wrought nickel. It has good mechanical properties and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. Other useful features of the alloy are its magnetic and magnetostrictive properties, high thermal and electrical conductivities, low gas content and low vapor pressure. Chemical composition is shown in Table 1. The corrosion resistance of Nickel 200 makes it particularly useful for maintaining product purity in the handling of foods, synthetic fibers, and caustic alkalies; and also in structural applications where resistance to corrosion is a prime consideration. Other applications include chemical shipping drums, electrical and electronic parts, aerospace and missile components.

Commercially pure wrought Nickel with good mechanical properties over a wide range of temperature and excellent resistance to many corrosives, in particular hydroxides.

4.Four common treatment methods for pipe surface.

1 cleaning

The grease, dust, lubricant, and organic matter adhering to the surface of the steel pipe are usually washed with a solvent or an emulsion. However, the rust, scale and welding slag on the surface of the steel pipe cannot be removed, and further treatment is required.

2 tool rust removal

Steel pipe surface oxide scale, rust, welding slag, wire brush can be used to clean the polished surface treatment. Tool rust removal is divided into manual and power. The rust removal of manual tools can reach Sa2 level, and the rust removal of power tools can reach Sa3 level. If the surface of the steel pipe is attached with a particularly strong scale, it may be derusted by means of tools or cleaned. Look for other methods.

3 pickling

Common pickling includes both chemical and electrolytic methods. However, the corrosion protection of the pipeline is only chemical pickling. Chemical pickling can achieve a certain degree of cleanliness and roughness on the surface of the steel pipe to facilitate subsequent anchor lines. Usually used as reprocessing after shot peening (sand).

4 polishing

High-speed motor drives the blades to rotate at high speed, so that the abrasives such as steel grit, steel shot, wire segment and minerals are sprayed and sprayed on the surface of the steel pipe under the action of centrifugal force. On the other hand, the rust, oxide and dirt are completely removed. The steel pipe achieves the required uniform roughness under the action of abrasive violent impact and friction.
