Damage to the cylinder head gasket or deformation of the sealing surface of the cylinder head can cause the cylinder to fail to seal and the cylinder pressure decreases. Whether there is abnormality in cylinder sealing performance can be judged simply by a diagnostic instrument. Compression testing is a software-based engine testing function that is primarily used to test engine cylinder leak tightness. When the compression test is performed, the engine is prevented from starting by prohibiting injection. By measuring the crankshaft speed of each cylinder during compression and power stroke, the relative airtightness of each cylinder can be judged and evaluated by a diagnostic instrument.
