Introduction to Ultra-pure Water Equipment for Battery Production

Ultra-pure water equipment for battery production includes ultra-pure water for storage battery production, ultra-pure water for lithium battery production, ultra-pure water for solar photovoltaic cell production, and ultra-pure water for battery grids. The preparation of electrolyte in batteries has very strict requirements for ultrapure water. Generally, the conductivity of water is required to be above 0.1us/cm(resistance value above 10 megohms). The traditional process for preparing ultrapure water for batteries often uses anion and cation resin exchange equipment. The disadvantage of this process is that the resin needs to be regenerated frequently after being used for a period of time. With the continuous maturation of membrane separation technology, reverse osmosis filtration is now often adopted, or a single-stage reverse osmosis process followed by an ion exchange mixed bed (or electro-deionization EDI) process is used to produce ultrapure water. Permeation device → Intermediate water tank → mixed bed device → Resin catcher → Deionized water tank.


The processes of ultra-pure water equipment used in battery production can be roughly divided into the following types

1. The ion exchange method is adopted, and the process is as follows: raw water - raw water booster pump - multi-media filter - activated carbon filter - water softener - precision filter → cation resin filter bed - cation and cation resin mixed bed → microporous filter - water usage point


2. A two-stage reverse osmosis method is adopted, and the process is as follows: raw water → raw water booster pump - multi-media filter - activated carbon filter - water softener → precision filter - first-stage reverse osmosis - PH adjustment → intermediate water tank - second-stage reverse osmosis (the surface of the reverse osmosis membrane carries a positive charge) - purified water tank - purified water pump - microporous filter → water usage point


3. The EDI method is adopted, and its process is as follows: raw water → raw water booster pump - multi-media filter - activated carbon filter → water softener - precision filter → first-stage reverse osmosis machine > intermediate water tank → intermediate water pump →EDI system - micro-pore filter - water usage point
