Product Overview
In construction and decoration scenarios, PP elbows serve as core
connecting components for PP pipe systems, mainly achieving
flexible connection between pipes and adapting to spatial layout
constraints through two primary connection methods.
Installation Methods
The first is hot-melt welding, which is the most commonly used
method for industrial and high-demand domestic scenarios (such as
water supply and drainage pipelines). During operation, a hot-melt
machine heats the inner wall of the PP elbow and the outer wall of
the PP pipe to a specific temperature (usually 200-230℃)
simultaneously. After the material surfaces melt and become
viscous, the pipe is quickly inserted into the elbow socket and
kept still until cooling and solidification. This method forms a
seamless connection where the interface strength is even higher
than that of the pipe itself, effectively preventing leakage and
ensuring long-term stability of the pipeline system. The second
method is socket connection with sealing rings, which is more
suitable for low-pressure and easy-maintenance scenarios (such as
temporary drainage pipelines in decoration sites). A special PP
sealing ring is first placed in the socket of the elbow, and then
the end of the pipe is coated with a dedicated PP pipe adhesive (or
directly inserted with appropriate force). The sealing ring deforms
to fill the gap between the pipe and the elbow, achieving a
leak-proof effect. This method is simple and fast, allowing for
convenient disassembly and replacement if adjustments are needed
during the decoration process.
Advantages
PP elbows offer significant advantages in construction and
decoration, making them widely used in multiple scenarios. In terms
of benefits, their excellent corrosion resistance ensures they are
not eroded by domestic wastewater (containing detergents, grease,
etc.) or slightly acidic/alkaline water in building pipelines,
avoiding rusting and blockage problems that often occur with metal
elbows, thus reducing maintenance costs and extending the service
life of the pipeline system. The lightweight characteristic (only
about 1/8 the weight of metal elbows) reduces the load on building
structures (especially for overhead pipelines or wall-mounted
installations) and simplifies transportation and on-site
construction, eliminating the need for heavy lifting equipment and
saving labor costs. Additionally, the smooth inner wall of PP
elbows minimizes fluid resistance, preventing the accumulation of
dirt, hair, and other impurities, which is crucial for maintaining
smooth water flow in domestic drainage pipelines (such as kitchen
and bathroom drains).
Applications
In specific construction and decoration uses, PP elbows are applied
in various key pipeline layouts. In residential interior
decoration, 90° PP elbows are commonly used at the corners of
kitchen and bathroom pipelines (such as connecting vertical
drainage pipes and horizontal floor drains) to adapt to the limited
space between walls and cabinets, ensuring the pipeline layout is
neat and does not occupy excessive usable space. 45° PP elbows are
often used in long-distance drainage pipelines (such as balcony
drainage or basement drainage) to reduce the impact of fluid on the
pipeline wall, slow down the flow rate, and avoid noise caused by
rapid water flow and pipeline vibration. In public building
construction (such as shopping malls, office buildings),
large-diameter PP elbows (with nominal diameters of DN110 or above)
are used in the main building drainage system, connecting the
horizontal main pipes and vertical risers to ensure efficient
discharge of a large amount of domestic wastewater. Moreover, in
building rainwater drainage systems, PP elbows are used to connect
the roof rainwater collection pipes and the ground drainage pipes,
leveraging their weather resistance (ability to withstand outdoor
temperature changes and ultraviolet radiation) to ensure the
rainwater system operates normally for a long time without leakage
or damage.
