Safety and durability testing: The main purpose is to ensure that EV charging plugs and connectors can withstand damage if a vehicle drives over them. This is a crucial safety test required by international standards like IEC 62196-1.


Realistic simulation: The apparatus is designed to accurately simulate the forces and motion of a real automobile tire rolling over the component. This often involves a reciprocating rolling motion to replicate both forward and backward movements.


Standard compliance: Manufacturers use this equipment to test that their products comply with the specific requirements and parameters of automotive and electrical safety standards.

Test tire and rim: The apparatus uses a standard automotive tire (e.g., P225/75R15) mounted on a steel rim. The tire's pressure is set to a specific standard value.
