GE IS220PPROS1B Emergency Turbine Protection I/O Pack
Product Description:
The GE IS220PPROS1B is an Emergency Turbine Protection I/O Pack part of the Mark VIe
Series, critical for GE Distributed Control Systems. It provides
backup overspeed protection, generator synchronization checks, and
acts as an independent watchdog for primary controls. Paired with
terminal boards, it forms a robust safety system—typically using
three Triple Modular Redundant PPRO packs on an SPRO terminal
board. Fully independent of primary controls, it monitors trip
board status and triggers backups if faults occur, enhancing
turbine safety.
Key Features:
Core Protection Functions: Delivers backup overspeed protection, generator synchronization
verification, and independent oversight of primary controls to
ensure turbine safety.
Redundancy & Compatibility: Supports TMR and simplex configurations; mounts directly on
SPRO/TREA terminal boards, with cable compatibility for TREG, TREL,
TRES, and TREA.
Installation Flexibility: Installs via threaded posts with bracket adjustment to avoid
connector stress; connects to Ethernet and power with soft-start
current limiting, configurable via ToolboxST.
Reliable Operation: Processor board integrates soft-start circuits, self-tests, and
application code matching. Dual 10/100 Ethernet ports operate
simultaneously, with faults indicated via active networks.
Hardware Traits: Includes high-speed CPU, watchdog timer, internal temperature
sensor, status LEDs, and electronic ID reading. Local power
supplies with monitoring ensure stable performance in harsh
industrial environments.
