1.Product Introduction


The Large Capacity Overflow Ball Mill is a pivotal grinding equipment widely utilized in mining, construction materials, chemical engineering, and other industries. Primarily designed for wet grinding processes, its core feature is the overflow discharge method. In this system, the ground pulp naturally overflows through the hollow shaft at the discharge end. This equipment is ideal for processes requiring fine grinding and high product size uniformity.



2.Application

  • Mining: Serves as critical grinding equipment in the mineral processing of both metallic ores (gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc, nickel, iron, molybdenum, etc.) and non-metallic minerals (quartz, feldspar, barite, fluorite, graphite, etc.).
  • Construction Materials: Used for the pulverization of raw materials such as cement, gypsum, and limestone.
  • Chemicals & Ceramics: Employed for grinding various chemical raw materials and ceramic billets.


3.Working Principle


The large capacity overflow ball mill consists of a horizontally rotating cylinder, a feeding device, a discharge device, and a transmission system (motor, reducer, large gear).

  1. Feeding: Materials and water are continuously fed into the cylinder from the intake end.

  2. Grinding: As the cylinder rotates, the internal steel balls are lifted to a certain height by centrifugal and frictional forces before falling. This creates a combination of impact and grinding action on the material.

  3. Discharge: The resulting pulp moves continuously forward within the cylinder and eventually overflows naturally through the hollow shaft at the discharge end, completing the milling process.

Equipped with large double-row self-aligning roller bearings or hybrid bearings, the mill significantly reduces frictional resistance. This allows for easier starting and energy savings of 20%–30% compared to traditional designs.


2. Optimized Structure

The cylinder is lined with grooved high-manganese steel plates, which increase the contact area between the steel balls and the ore. This design strengthens the grinding effect, enhances the ore-lifting capacity, and further reduces power consumption.


3. Large Capacity Design

Specifically engineered for large-scale mineral processing plants, it offers a wide range of processing capacities—from a few tons to hundreds of tons per hour. It is suitable for both primary grinding and regrinding of various metallic and non-metallic ores.


4. Stable & Reliable Operation

The integrated steel frame design ensures stability under high-load conditions. Large-scale units are typically equipped with an inch drive (slow-speed drive) to facilitate easier startup and routine maintenance.

The equipment supports customized production, allowing customers to select different liner materials and motor voltages based on specific site conditions and material characteristics.
