Top Failure Modes:

1. Clogging – Metal debris, clutch material, or sludge blocks flow, causing low pressure & overheating.

2. Filter Media Breakdown – Degraded filter material (due to heat/contaminants) allows harmful particles to circulate.

3. Seal/Gasket Leaks – Cracks or improper sealing lead to pressure loss & fluid aeration.

4. Housing/Casing Damage – Cracks or warping from stress/heat disrupts filtration efficiency.

5. Bypass Valve Failure – Stuck open (allowing dirty oil) or closed (causing oil starvation).

Key Symptoms:

• Delayed/harsh shifts (low pressure)

• Burning smell (overheating)

• Metallic noise (debris in clutches/gears)

Fix: Replace filter and fluid, inspect for internal damage
