Basic Properties​

ShinEtsu KF-96 is a linear dimethylpolysiloxane silicone fluid available in 27 viscosity grades (0.65-1,000,000 cSt). Features density 0.76-0.98 g/cm³, pour point ≤-50°C, flash point ≥315°C, engineered for lubrication, insulation, and thermal management in extreme temperatures (-50°C to 250°C).

Product Description​

KF-96 maintains viscosity stability across temperatures via ultra-low viscosity-temperature coefficient. Its physiological inertness enables food/medical contact applications, while chemical inertness and UL 94 HB flammability rating ensure safety in electrical systems.

Aerospace Damping: Lubricates satellite reaction wheels. -50°C viscosity only 3.3x higher, compliant with MIL-PRF-87257B.
EV Battery Cooling: Immersion coolant for Li-ion packs. 0.16 W/m·K thermal conductivity + 35 kV/mm dielectric strength, implemented in Tesla 4680.
HV Transformers: Replaces mineral oil in 500kV units. 1×10¹⁵ Ω·cm resistivity cuts leakage current 90%, compliant with IEC 60296.
Precision Instrument Lubrication: Lubricates vacuum chamber guides. <1.0 Torr vapor pressure maintains 10⁻⁶ Torr vacuum, used in ASML lithography.
