NEWBASE Battery Thermal Management System (BTMS)

1. Functions of BTMS

The functions of a BTMS primarily include:

  • Battery Temperature Monitoring: Real-time monitoring of the battery's temperature distribution and recording of historical temperature data.

  • Cooling/Heating: Regulating the battery temperature through cooling or heating methods.
  • Fault Diagnosis: Identifying thermal-related faults in the battery and providing alarm information.
  • Communication: Facilitating communication with other systems, such as the Battery Management System (BMS) or vehicle control systems.

2. Protocols Used in BTMS

Common protocols used in BTMS include:

  • CANbus: A multi-master serial communication protocol used to connect the BTMS with other systems.
  • Modbus: A popular serial communication protocol for connecting the BTMS with other systems.
  • RS485: A half-duplex serial communication protocol used to connect the BTMS with other systems.
