ASME SA105N carbon Steel Self Reinforced Nozzle For High Pressure Vessels And Piping Systems
The ASTM A182 F11 Class 2 self-reinforced nozzle is a forged
inlet/outlet connection fitting made from chromium-molybdenum alloy
steel. This material is normalized and tempered (Grade 2) to
achieve a specific strength level suitable for high-temperature and
high-pressure applications. Crucially, it is designed and forged to
have an integrally thickened wall at the base, eliminating the need
for a separate reinforcement pad when welding to the pipe or
vessel.
F11 is a chromium-molybdenum (Cr-Mo) alloy steel. Grade 2 is the most commonly used grade for F11 nozzles and fittings, offering an excellent balance of strength, ductility, and toughness for typical high-temperature and high-pressure applications.
A nozzle is a pipe fitting or vessel accessory used to provide an inlet/outlet connection for fluid flow. Common types include weld-on nozzles, socket-type nozzles, threaded nozzles, and Nippleite nozzles. Nozzles are typically welded to the pipe or pressure vessel shell/head.
Self-reinforced nozzles are forged with additional wall thickness in the area where they connect to the operating pipe or vessel wall. This integral thickening provides the necessary reinforcement to the nozzle body itself.
