2Dx51mm Virgin Polyester Staple Fiber High Tenacity Adjustable Crimp Frequency for Better Performance
Description:
This 2 denier × 51mm polyester staple fiber is specially engineered as a high-performance filling material without silicon treatment. The medium-fine denier and optimized fiber length provide perfect balance between softness and resilience for superior loft performance in filling applications.
The production process is as follows:
Polymerization: Raw materials (purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and monoethylene glycol (MEG)) are combined to create molten PET.
Spinning: The molten polymer is forced through a spinneret (a device like a showerhead with tiny holes) to form continuous filaments.
Drawing: The filaments are stretched (drawn) to align the polymer molecules, which increases their strength and tenacity.
Crimping: The continuous filaments are crimped (given a wavy, zig-zag texture) to add bulk and help the fibers grip each other during the spinning process later.
Cutting: The continuous tow (a large bundle of thousands of filaments) is then cut into short, predetermined lengths—this is what creates the "staple" fiber.
Baling: The cut staple fiber is compressed into large bales for easy shipping and handling, similar to raw cotton bales.
Technical Advantages vs Siliconized Fibers:
• Better adhesion in thermal-bonded applications
• Improved dye affinity for colored filling products
• Lower production costs with equal loft performance
• No silicone migration issues in long-term use
