Rubber Kneader Introduction
Structural composition of rubber kneader
1. Mixing chamber: usually adopts jacket structure, can be passed
through cooling water or steam for temperature control, the inner
wall is generally plated with hard chrome to reduce wear. A pair of
rotors of specific shape and relative rotation are arranged in the
chamber, the surface of the rotor has spiral ridges, common ones
are two-sided, four-sided, six-sided, etc., and its cross-sectional
geometric shapes are triangular, cylindrical or elliptical.
2. Feeding and pressing device: It consists of a feeding hopper and
a pressing device. The pressing device generally adopts a cylinder
or a hydraulic cylinder, and applies pressure to the rubber in the
mixing chamber through the upper push bolt to ensure that the
rubber is in full contact with the rotor and the mixing chamber
wall during the mixing process, thereby improving the mixing
effect.
3. Unloading device: Commonly there are flip unloading mechanisms,
such as arc worm gear and worm mechanism, which have strong
load-bearing capacity and long service life. The mixing chamber can
be flipped forward at a certain angle for unloading, which is
convenient for connecting the upper and lower processes.
4. Transmission device: including main motor, reducer, coupling,
etc. The main motor provides power, reduces the speed and increases
the torque through the reducer, and then transmits the power to the
rotor through the coupling, so that the rotor rotates at the set
speed and speed ratio.
5. Temperature control system: The temperature measurement system
composed of thermocouples, etc. is mainly used to measure the
temperature change in the mixing chamber during the mixing process;
the heating and cooling system is mainly to control the temperature
of the rotor and the surface of the inner wall of the mixing
chamber to ensure that the mixing process is carried out within the
appropriate temperature range.
6. Sealing device: It is used to prevent the leakage of rubber and
powder during the mixing process. Generally, advanced sealing
methods are used, such as sealing rings made of high temperature
resistant, wear-resistant, and small thermal expansion coefficient
materials, and are equipped with sealing springs on the outside.
Working Principle
After adding the rubber raw materials and various compounding
agents into the mixing chamber from the feeding port, the upper
bolt is pressed down to apply a certain pressure to the rubber.
Driven by the main motor, the two rotors rotate relative to each
other at different speeds, clamping the rubber and bringing it into
the roller gap, so that the rubber is squeezed, sheared, stirred
and rolled by the rotors. In the process of flowing around the
rotor, the rubber is sheared and rubbed everywhere, the temperature
rises sharply, the viscosity decreases, and the wettability of the
rubber on the surface of the compounding agent is increased, so
that the rubber and the compounding agent are fully in contact. The
compounding agent lumps pass through various gaps together with the
rubber, are sheared and broken, and are surrounded by the stretched
and deformed rubber, and are stabilized in a broken state. At the
same time, the ridges on the rotor make the rubber move along the
axial direction of the rotor, which plays a stirring and mixing
role, so that the compounding agent is evenly mixed in the rubber.
