LC UPC Simplex Fiber Optic Adapter

An LC Simplex Adapter is a small form-factor coupling device used to connect two LC fiber optic connectors (or one connector to a transceiver). LC stands for Lucent Connector. It uses a 1.25mm ferrule (half the size of a standard SC or ST connector).

While a simplex adapter is just one unit, if you are using this in a duplex application (two fibers, one for TX and one for RX), you usually snap two simplex adapters together into a "clip" or use a duplex LC adapter.

Type A (Straight): Positioned with key up / key up (most common for singlemode).

Type B (Reversed): Positioned with key up / key down (used for transceiver polarity reversal in multimode systems).

Application:

1.1 Patch Panels & MDUs: Used in fiber distribution hubs to connect incoming feeder cables to subscriber drops (FTTH).

1.2 Transceivers: While often built into SFP modules, these adapters are used on bulkheads to extend or manage fibers going into high-density switches.

1.3 Test Equipment: Used to create temporary connections between a light source/power meter and a device under test.
