Functions

• High - Speed Switching: It has a fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz. This high - speed switching enables the use of small, low - cost capacitors and inductors with a height of 2mm or less.
• Negative Output Generation: It can generate negative output voltages. For example, it can produce a - 5V output at 350mA or a - 12V output at 150mA from a 5V input supply.
• Dual - Inductor Topology: It operates in a dual - inductor inverting topology, which filters both the input - side and output - side currents. When ceramic output capacitors are used, it can achieve a very low output voltage ripple of approximately 1mV(_{P - P}).
• Fixed - Frequency Switching: The fixed - frequency switching ensures a clean output without the low - frequency noise that is typically present in charge - pump solutions.
• Wide Input Range: It has a wide input voltage range, from 2.6V to 16V. The 36V switch allows a differential voltage of up to 34V between the input ((V_{IN})) and the output ((V_{OUT})).
• Low - Impedance Output: During large load steps, the low - impedance output remains within 1% of the nominal value.
• Current - Mode Control: It adopts a constant - frequency current - mode control scheme, which provides excellent voltage regulation and load regulation. The switch current is constantly monitored, and it is not allowed to exceed the nominal value of 1.2A to protect the power switch and external components.
• Small Package: It is packaged in a 5 - pin ThinSOT package, which has a small footprint and is suitable for space - constrained applications.

• Disk Drive MR Head Bias: It is used to provide bias voltage for the magnetoresistive (MR) heads in disk drives.
• Digital Camera CCD Bias: It can supply the necessary bias voltage for the charge - coupled device (CCD) in digital cameras.
• LCD Bias: It is applied to provide bias for liquid - crystal displays (LCDs).
• GaAs FET Bias: It is used to bias gallium arsenide field - effect transistors (GaAs FETs).
• Local Low - Noise/Low - Impedance Negative Supply: It can be used as a local negative power supply with low noise and low impedance in various electronic circuits.
