Properties
Aluminium has a relatively high strength-to-weight ratio and, although only a third of the weight, can be as strong as steel when alloyed with other metals. Melting Point = c6600C.

Applications
Used primarily in the automotive (valve silencers) and aerospace (EMC filters) sectors where the strength:weight ratio is a critical factor, and in military and energy applications where lightweight substructures are required in eg cores for composite mouldings
